Possible Causes

Procedure

  1. Possible cause 1: The network connection between the backup proxy and the protected environment server is interrupted.

    1. Log in to the backup server GUI using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    2. On the navigation bar, choose Protected Env. > VMware or Protected Env. > Storage Device. Find the protected environment and obtain the IP address.
    3. Refer to Logging In to the eBackup Server to log in to the backup proxy.
    4. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    5. Check the network connectivity between the proxy and the protected environment. If the IP address is an IPv4 address, run the ping IP address of the protected environment command. If the IP address is an IPv6 address, run the ping6 IP address of the protected environment command. Check whether the IP addresses can be pinged.
      • If yes, 1.f.
      • If no, contact the equipment room administrator to recover the network connectivity and ensure that the network connection is normal.
    6. In the navigation tree on the left of the backup server, click the scan symbol corresponding to the protected environment to scan the protected environment again and check whether the scanning is successful..
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, 2.

  2. Possible cause 2: The protected environment configurations are invalid.

    1. Contact the administrator of the protected environment to ask for the new username and password.
    2. Log in to the backup server GUI using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    3. If the protected environment is VMware or storage device, go to 2.d.
    4. In the navigation tree, choose Protected Env. > VMware or Protected Env. > Storage Device. Click modify symbol in the navigation tree on the left, edit the protected environment, and enter the latest user name and password, scan the protected environment again, and check whether the operation is successful.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, contact technical support engineers.
