Description

When notification short messages or email fails to be sent, this alarm is generated. The alarm must be manually cleared.

NOTE:

The location information of the alarm contains the text (255 characters at most) in notification short messages or email.

Possible Causes

The communication parameters are set incorrectly.

Procedure

  1. Choose Alarms > Alarm Settings from the main menu. In the navigation pane, choose Notification Rules, check whether the notification rule is set and enabled.

    • If yes, go to 3.
    • If no, go to 2.

  2. Check whether short messages, receiving number and receiving address of the mailbox is correct in the notification rules.

    • If no, change it to the correct short messages receiving number or mail receiving address. Then go to 3.
    • If yes, go to 3.

  3. Choose Alarms > Current Alarms from the main menu.
  4. On the Current Alarms page, search for and click the Failed to send the remote notification alarm. The Basic Information page is displayed. On the page that is displayed, view Location Info and Other Information.

    • If Location Info is Notification mode=SMS message and Other Information is the SMS recipient, the cause may be that an error occurs during the SMS settings, SMN setting, or SMS modem settings. Go to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
    • If Location Info is Notification mode=Email and Other Information is the email recipient, go to 5 and 11.

  5. Choose System > System Settings > Notifications from the main menu.
  6. The SMS messages are sent on the SMS server. In the navigation pane, choose SMS Settings > SMS Server Settings, or SMS Settings > Protocol Settings. Check whether the SMS server settings and protocol settings are correct. Obtain the SMS recipient in 4 and set the mobile number of the recipient. Click Test to test whether the SMS server is connected properly.
  7. SMS messages are sent on the SMN server. In the navigation pane, choose SMN Settings. Check whether the SMN settings are correct. Obtain the SMS recipient in 4 and set the mobile number of the recipient. Click Test to test whether the SMN server is connected properly.
  8. The SMS modem is used to send SMS messages. In the navigation pane, choose SMS Modem Settings. Obtain the SMS recipient in 4 and set the mobile number of the recipient. Click Test to test whether the SMS modem is connected properly.
  9. If the test succeeds, no further action is required.
  10. If the connectivity failed, contact Huawei technical support.
  11. In the navigation pane, choose Email Server Settings. Check whether the email settings are correct. Click Test to check whether the email server is connected properly.

    • If the test succeeds, check whether the email address is correct based on the email recipient obtained in 4.
    • If the connectivity failed, contact Huawei technical support.
