ALM-9917 Service OM CPU Usage Exceeds the Threshold

Description

Service OM periodically (5 minutes by default) checks the CPU usage of the VM in the environment. This alarm is generated if the CPU usage exceeds 80%. If the usage is lower than the threshold, the alarm is cleared.

Additional Info

Service: specifies the service for which the alarm is generated.

MicroService: specifies the microservice for which the alarm is generated.

usage: specifies the CPU usage.

threshold: specifies the threshold for which the alarm is generated.

Impact on the System

The VM where Service OM is located may respond slowly, and the command times out, or the VM cannot run properly.

Possible Causes

Some processes are not processed in time and occupy too many CPU resources.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Service OM web client.

    For details, see Logging In to and Logging Out of Service OM.

  2. Choose Services > Service OM > Centralized O&M > System > Task Center and check whether any task is being executed.

    • If yes, wait until the task is complete and go to 3.
    • If no, go to 4.

  3. After 10 minutes, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Choose Services > Service OM > Centralized O&M > System > Operation Log and check whether operation logs generated within the last 5 minutes exist.

    • If yes, go to 5.
    • If no, go to 6.

  5. After 10 minutes, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 6.

  6. Wait for 30 minutes and check whether the alarm is automatically cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact technical support for assistance.
