Description

This alarm is generated when a combined API database node becomes down, or a combined API node fails to access the database due to a network fault.

Impact on the System

The ECS, EVS, and IMS services hosted in Combined API cannot be used properly.

Possible Causes

  • Combined API database nodes are malfunctional.
  • The network is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal using a browser.

    • URL: https://Address for accessing the homepage of ManageOne Maintenance Portal:31943, for example, https://oc.type.com:31943
    • Default username: admin; default password: Huawei12#$

  2. Click Log In. In the navigation bar at the top, choose Alarms > Current Alarms, and obtain the additional information and location information of this alarm.
  3. Check the value of DatabaseIP in the additional information, and run the ping command to check the network connectivity to this IP address.
  4. If the network connection is faulty, repair the network first. If the network is normal, log in to FusionSphere OpenStack and perform 6. For details, see Logging In to a FusionSphere OpenStack Node and Importing Environment Variables.
  5. Log in to the VM database node from FusionSphere OpenStack. Run the following command to query the IP address of the VM database node PUB-DB01:

    nova list --all-t | grep PUB-DB-01

    Run the following command to switch to user fsp:

    su fsp

    Run the following command to switch to the VM database node:

    ssh gaussdb@database node IP address

    Default username: gaussdb; default password: Huawei@123

  6. Run the following command to switch to user root:

    sudo su - root

    Default username: root; default password: Cloud12#$

    Run the following command to disable user logout upon session timeout:

    TMOUT=0

  7. Run the following command to check whether the current VM is the active one:

    service had query

    • If the command output contains "active", the current VM is the active one.
    • If the command output does not contain "active", the current VM is the standby one.

      Information similar to that shown in Figure 6-18 is displayed. Check whether the STAT value is Normal for both the active and standby nodes.

  8. Run the following command to check whether the database configuration is correct:

    service gaussdb query

    • LOCAL_ROLE: Standby
    • PEER_STATE: Normal
    • SYNC_PERCENT: 100%

    Information similar to Figure 6-19 is displayed. Check whether the information in the red boxes is correct.
