Impact on the System

FusionSphere OpenStack cannot be connected to the FusionCompute VRM node.

Possible Causes

  • The external switches face the problems of high packet loss rate or long delay for data forwarding.
  • The bandwidth of the host NIC or switch is insufficient.
  • The NIC is faulty.
  • The VRM management node fails to work properly.
  • The VRM account password is incorrect.
  • The network between FusionSphere OpenStack and the VRM node is incorrectly configured.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client.

    For details, see Logging In to the FusionSphere OpenStack Web Client (ManageOne Mode).

  2. On the Summary page, obtain the management IP address of the host in the OM IP Address column based on the host ID or host name in the alarm additional information.
  3. Use PuTTY to log in to the host for which the alarm is generated using the management IP address of the host.

    The default user name is fsp. The default password is Huawei@CLOUD8.

    The system supports both password and public-private key pair for identity authentication. If the public-private key pair is used for login authentication, see detailed operations in Using PuTTY to Log In to a Node in Key Pair Authentication Mode.

  4. Run the following command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root:

    su - root

    The default password of user root is Huawei@CLOUD8!.

  5. Run the following command to disable user logout upon system timeout:

    TMOUT=0

  6. Run the following command to import environment variables:

    source set_env

    Information similar to the following is displayed:

      please choose environment variable which you want to import: 
      (1) openstack environment variable (keystone v3) 
      (2) cps environment variable 
      (3) openstack environment variable legacy (keystone v2) 
      (4) openstack environment variable of cloud_admin (keystone v3) 
      please choose:[1|2|3|4] 

  7. Enter 1 to enable Keystone V3 authentication and enter the password of OS_USERNAME as prompted.

    Default account format: DCname_admin; default password: FusionSphere123.

  8. Run the following command to check the node where the fc-nova-compute service resides and use PuTTY to log in to the node using the value of omip in the command output.

    cps template-instance-list --service nova fc-nova-compute

  9. Run the ping command to check whether the IP address of the VRM node can be pinged.

    • If yes, go to 10.
    • If no, contact the lab administrator to check whether the physical network connection and configuration are correct. If the physical network is correctly configured, go to 10.

  10. Run the cps template-instance-list --service apacheproxy apacheproxy command and obtain the OM IP address of the host accommodating the active ApacheProxy service in the command output. Then log in to the host using this IP address. Run the ping VRM_IP -I APACHEPROXY_IP command to check whether the forward proxy can communicate with the VRM node. In this command, VRM_IP indicates the management IP address of the VRM node. APACHEPROXY_IP indicates the forward proxy IP address of the External API network plane.

    • If yes, go to 11.
    • If no, contact the lab administrator to check whether the physical network connection and configuration are correct. If the physical network is correctly configured, go to 13.

  11. On the FusionSphere OpenStack web client, choose Configuration > Manage Resource Pool.
  12. In the Resource Pool area, click in the FusionCompute resource pool and check whether the FusionCompute interconnection parameters are correct.
  13. Ensure that the parameters are correct and click Submit. After several minutes, log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client and check whether the alarm is cleared.
  14. If the alarm persists, contact technical support for assistance.
