Prerequisites

You have imported environment variables. For details, see section Importing Environment Variables.

Scenario

When you execute the nova/cinder/cps command on the OpenStack controller node and do not expect the history mechanism of the OS to record this command, perform the operations in secure mode. Otherwise, perform the operations in insecure mode.

Secure Mode

  1. Run the following command to enter the secure operation mode:

    cpssafe

    Information similar to the following is displayed:
    please choose environment variable which you want to import:
    (1) openstack environment variable (keystone v3)
    (2) cps environment variable
    (3) openstack environment variable legacy (keystone v2)
    please choose:[1|2|3]

    Enter 1 to select the keystone v3 authentication.

    Information similar to the following is displayed:

Insecure Mode

Exercise caution when performing operations in this mode because this mode poses the following risks:

  • The operation history mechanism records all the commands that have been executed.
  • The access password imported to the environment variables poses the risk of leaking the tenant's password.
  1. Perform the operations based on section Importing Environment Variables and run the following command to import OS_PASSWORD to the OS:

    export OS_PASSWORD=123

    NOTE:

    In the command, 123 indicates the tenant's access password.
