ALM-6038 Host Disk Usage Exceeds the Threshold

ALM-6038 Host Disk Usage Exceeds the Threshold

Description

FusionSphere OpenStack detects the host disk usage every 300 seconds, namely, the percentage of the total usage of all logical partitions of the host in all logical partitions.

This alarm is generated if the disk usage is greater than or equal to the threshold. This alarm is cleared when the host disk usage drops below the threshold.

NOTE:
  • The default alarm threshold offset is 5%. The default alarm thresholds are as follows:
    • Major: Host disk usage ≥ 95%
    • Minor: 85% ≤ Host disk usage < 95%
  • For ALM-6020 in ALM-6020 Host Partition Usage Exceeds the Threshold, the system checks each logical partition on the host and generates ALM-6020 if the usage of each logical partition exceeds the threshold. However, ALM-6038 is used to check the total usage of all logical partitions. This alarm is reported only when the percentage of the total usage to the total size of all logical partitions reaches the threshold.

Parameters

Name

Meaning

Fault Location Info

host_id: specifies the ID of the host for which the alarm is generated.

Additional Info

  • Threshold_level: specifies the alarm threshold. The value is fixed at Major: 85-95%, Critical: >= 95%.
  • hostname: specifies the name of the host for which the alarm is generated.
  • used: specifies the current disk usage.

Impact on the System

  • System performance may deteriorate, and new system data cannot be stored.
  • When some partitions, for example, the root partition, are fully occupied, system services cannot be processed.

Possible Causes

Excessive files are stored on the logical disk.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the host ID in the alarm object field.
  2. Check whether ALM-6020 is generated for the host on the alarm page.

    • If yes, go to 3.
    • If no, go to 5.

  3. Clear ALM-6020 based on ALM-6020 Host Partition Usage Exceeds the Threshold.
  4. After 4 to 5 minutes when ALM-6020 is cleared, check whether ALM-6038 is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 5.

  5. Contact technical support for assistance.
