ALM-70131 CPU Allocation Ratio of the Host Group Exceeds the Threshold

Description

FusionSphere OpenStack periodically detects the CPU allocation rate of the host group, every 5 minutes by default. This alarm is generated if the number of CPUs that are allocated reaches 85% of the total CPUs.

This alarm is cleared when the number of CPUs that are allocated drops below 70% of the total CPUs in the host group.

  • cpu_total: specifies the total CPU usage of the host group for which the alarm is generated.
  • cpu_used: specifies the used CPUs of the host group for which the alarm is generated.

Impact on the System

The VM fails to be created in the host group or HA malfunctions due to high CPU allocation rate.

Possible Causes

The total resources in the host group are insufficient, the number of VMs is excessive, or a faulty host exists.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the information about the total CPU resources, CPU resources that are allocated, and threshold for reporting this alarm based on the alarm information. The alarm can be cleared by:

    • Expanding the capacity of the host group to increase its CPU resources.
    • Deleting unnecessary VMs to release CPU resources.
    • Rectify the faulty host in the host group.

  2. If the CPU allocation rate is below 70% and the alarm is not cleared, contact technical support for assistance.
