Possible Causes

  • The network connection between the backup manager or backup server and storage device is interrupted.
  • Manage data backup storage inaccessible.
  • An S3 storage bucket does not exist or the AK/SK is wrong.
  • The backup manager or backup server does not have the permission to access the shared storage.

Procedure

  1. Possible cause 1: The network connection between the backup manager or backup server and storage device is interrupted.

    1. Log in to the backup manager and backup server GUI in sequence using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the Workflow-Management-Float-IP field or IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    2. Choose Settings > Configuration > Management Data Backup. On the Management Data Backup page that is displayed.
    3. Click Set Backup Storage, check the IP address of the management data backup storage server.
    4. Refer to Logging In to the eBackup Server to log in to eBackup-Manager and backup server.
    5. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    6. If the IP address is an IPv4 address, run the ping IP address of the management data backup storage server command. If the IP address is an IPv6 address, run the ping6 IP address of the management data backup storage server command. Check whether the IP addresses can be pinged.
      • If yes, 2.
      • If no, contact the equipment room administrator to recover the network connectivity and ensure that the network connection is normal.

  2. Possible cause 2: Manage data backup storage inaccessible.

    1. Check whether packet loss occurs based on the command output in 1.
      • If yes, contact the administrator to improve the network performance and ensure that the communication between the backup manager or backup server and the storage unit is stable.
      • If no, 2.b.
    2. Log in to the backup manager and backup server GUI in sequence using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the Workflow-Management-Float-IP field or IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    3. Choose Settings > Configuration > Management Data Backup. On the Management Data Backup page that is displayed.
    4. Click Set Backup Storage, check the type of the storage for management data backup.
      • If the type is S3, 3.
      • If the type is NFS, 4.

  3. Possible cause 3: An S3 storage bucket does not exist or the AK/SK is wrong.

    1. Refer to Logging In to the eBackup Server to log in to eBackup-Manager and backup server.
    2. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    3. Run the cd /opt/huawei-data-protection/ebackup/sbin command to go to the sbin directory.
    4. Run the export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/huawei-data-protection/ebackup/libs command to import the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environmental variable.
    5. Run the ./uds_plug-in TestBucket S3 storage IP address Bucket name AK SK command to check whether the AK, SK, and bucket name are correct.
      • If yes, contact technical support engineers.
      • If no, 3.f.
    6. Log in to the backup manager and backup server GUI in sequence using a browser.

      Login address: https://IP address corresponding to the Workflow-Management-Float-IP field or IP address corresponding to the datamover_management_float_ip field:8088

      Default account: admin. Default password: Cloud12#$ for installation using HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy, and PXU9@ctuNov17! for manual installation.

    7. Choose Settings > Configuration > Management Data Backup. On the Management Data Backup page that is displayed.
    8. Click Set Backup Storage to reset the backup storage. For details, see Backing Up Data > Backing Up DR&Backup Service Data > Backing Up eBackup Data > Configuring a backup Policy > S3 in HUAWEI CLOUD Stack 6.5.0 Backup and Restoration Guide.

  4. Possible cause 4: The backup manager or backup server does not have the permission to access the shared storage.

    1. Refer to Logging In to the eBackup Server to log in to eBackup-Manager and backup server.
    2. Run the su root command and enter the password of user root to switch to user root.

      The default password of user root is Cloud12#$.

    3. Run the ls /opt/huawei-data-protection/ebackup/db_bak and chown hcpprocess:hcp /opt/huawei-data-protection/ebackup/db_bak commands on the backup manager and backup server to check whether the shared storage can be accessed correctly and the directory permission can be changed.
      • If yes, contact technical support engineers.
      • If no, contact the maintenance staff of the equipment room to configure the access permission of the backup server on the storage devices. Ensure that the backup server can access the storage devices properly.
