Description

The system checks whether the named process of the DNS service is running properly every 60s. This alarm is generated when the process is running improperly.

The alarm node cannot provide the DNS service.

Possible Causes

The named process does not exist or is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal using a browser.

    • URL: https://Address for accessing the homepage of ManageOne Maintenance Portal:31943, for example, https://oc.type.com:31943
    • Default username: admin; default password: Huawei12#$

  2. On the menu bar in the upper part of the page, choose Alarms > Current Alarms.
  3. In the alarm list, locate the alarm to be handled, and click on the left of the alarm. The Details page is displayed.
  4. Choose Location Info, obtain the host IP address, that is, the IP address of the node where the alarm is generated.
  5. Use PuTTY to log in to the node for which the alarm is generated. Ensure that the management IP address of the node obtained in 4 is used to establish the connection.

    The default username is udns, and the default password is Huawei12#$.

  6. Check whether the login is successful.

    • If yes, go to 7.
    • If the alarm persists, contact technical support for assistance.

  7. Run the following command to switch to the root user (the default password is Cloud12#$):

    sudo su - root

  8. Run the following command to check whether the named service is running properly:

    service named status

    • If yes, contact technical support for assistance.
    • If no, go to 9.

  9. Run the following command to restart the service:

    service named restart

  10. After 2 minutes, run the following command to check whether the named service is running properly:

    service named status

    • If yes, go to 11.
    • If no, contact technical support for assistance.

  11. After 10 minutes, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, collect information generated during alarm handling and contact technical support for assistance.

Alarm Clearance

This alarm will be automatically cleared after the fault is rectified.
