This alarm is generated when the backup in the management surface fails to be uploaded to the SFTP server.

Impact on the System

  • Backup data failed to be uploaded to the SFTP server and can only be stored on the local host.
  • Remote restoration cannot be performed when the node is faulty.

Possible Causes

  • The SFTP server parameters are incorrectly configured.
  • The backup process is abnormal.

Procedure

If the backup data on the nodes excluding GaussDB nodes fails to be uploaded, perform the following steps:

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the node where the upload fails as the paas user.

    The default username is paas, and the default password is QAZ2wsx@123!.

  2. Run the monit summary command to check whether the backup-restore process status is Running.

    • If yes, go to 3.
    • If no, contact technical support for assistance.

  3. Check whether the parameters in the sftp.conf configuration file stored in /opt/ddm/tools/backup_script are correctly set.

    • If yes, go to 4.
    • If no, modify the configuration file and run the /opt/ddm/tools/backup_script/commit_task.sh command to back up and upload the file and data to the SFTP server.

  4. Run the wget sftp_url command to check whether the SFTP server can be accessed, and ensure that the value of sftp_url in the command is the same as that configured in the /opt/ddm/tools/backup_script/sftp.conf file.

    • If connected is displayed in the command output, go to 5.
    • If Connection refused is displayed in the command output, contact the SFTP server administrator.

  5. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact technical support for assistance.

If the backup data on GaussDB nodes fails to be uploaded, perform the following steps:

  1. Check whether the parameters in the Upload_Server.cfg configuration file stored in /opt/gaussdb/ha/tools/backupAndRestore are correctly set.

    • If yes, go to 2.
    • If no, modify the configuration file and perform operations in 3 to 11.

  2. Run the wget FTP_SERVER_IP:FTP_SERVER_PORT command to check whether the SFTP server can be accessed. In the preceding command, the values of FTP_SERVER_IP and FTP_SERVER_PORT are set in the /opt/gaussdb/ha/tools/backupAndRestore/Upload_Server.cfg file.

    • If connected is displayed in the command output, go to 3.
    • If Connection refused is displayed in the command output, contact the SFTP server administrator.

  3. Use PuTTY to log in to the GaussDB node as the paas user.
  4. Run the following command and enter the password of the root user to switch to the root user:

    su - root

    Default password: QAZ2wsx@123!

  5. Run the following command to switch to the dbadmin user:

    su - dbadmin

  6. Run the following command to query the database status and locate the master node:

    gs_ctl query

    The following shows the query result (If the value of LOCAL_ROLE is Primary, the host is the master database host. If the value of LOCAL_ROLE is Standby, the host is the standby database host.).

    [dbadmin@DDM-DB01 ~]$ gs_ctl query

  7. Use PuTTY to log in to the master GaussDB node as the paas user.
  8. Run the following command and enter the password of the root user to switch to the root user:

    su - root

    Default password: QAZ2wsx@123!

  9. Modify the configuration items for backing up SFTP. (If only local backup is required, skip this step and perform 10.)
  10. Execute the backup. The task takes about five to ten minutes.

    /opt/gaussdb/ha/tools/backupAndRestore/dbBackupManual.sh

  11. Check whether any backup files are generated at the specified time.

    • For local backup files, go to the /opt/backup/DB/ directory and run the following commands:

      cd /opt/backup/DB/

      ll

    • For SFTP backup files, go to the SFTP remote directory and run the following commands: (in the commands, the parameter values of Username, IP, and Remote directory are set in 9):

      sftp Username@IP address

      cd Remote directory

      ls

  12. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact technical support for assistance.

Alarm Clearing

After the fault is rectified, the system automatically clears the alarm.
