Description

When conditions for triggering the scaling policy are met, the Policy Engine service calls CFE to scale applications. This alarm is reported when the number of instances to be scaled reaches the maximum or minimum number of instances in the scaling group.

Policy trigger type, including alarm trigger, scheduled trigger, and periodic trigger.

status

Policy execution status. If the alarm is reported, the status is Limited.

trigger_condition

Conditions for triggering the scaling policy.

scale_info

Scale-out or scale-in information.

Impact on the System

  • Restricted scale-out may lead to insufficient application resources and slow service access.
  • Restricted scale-in may lead to waste of resources, but has no impact on applications.

Possible Causes

Number of instances to be scaled reaches the maximum or minimum number of instances in the scaling group.

Procedure

  1. Log in to FusionStage.

    1. Use a browser to log in to ManageOne Operation Portal (ManageOne Tenant Portal in B2B scenarios) as a VDC administrator or VDC operator.
      Login address:
      • Login address in a non-B2B scenario: https://Address for accessing ManageOne Operation Portal, for example, https://console.demo.com.
      • Login address in the B2B scenario: https://Address for accessing ManageOne Tenant Portal, for example, https://tenant.demo.com
    2. Select your region and then project from the drop-down list on the top menu bar.
    3. Choose Console > Application > FusionStage from the main menu.

  2. Choose Application Operations > Application Operations from the main menu.
  3. In the navigation pane, choose Auto Scaling.
  4. On the AS Group page, click AS Policies in the same row as the AS group indicated in the alarm information.

    NOTE:

    The AS group name and policy name are indicated in the alarm information.

  5. In the upper right corner on the displayed page, click Modify to modify the AS group information.
  6. Adjust the maximum or minimum number of instances that applications in the AS group can scale to. Click OK.

    NOTE:

    The scale_info parameter in the additional alarm information indicates whether the alarm pertains to scale-out or scale-in restriction.

    • If the alarm pertains to scale-out restriction, increase the maximum number of instances in the scaling group.
    • If the alarm pertains to scale-in restriction, lower the minimum number of instances in the scaling group.

  7. If the problem persists, contact technical support.

Alarm Clearing

The application that is restricted to be scaled is running properly. This alarm is cleared when the number of instances in the scaling group is correctly adjusted.
