ALM-73302 The Detection VLAN Is Not Configured for a Network

Description

The VLAN detection plane is used to ensure the reliability of high availability (HA)-enabled VMs. If HA is triggered for VMs without the VLAN detection plane configured, split brain may occur. This alarm is generated when the VLAN detection plane is not configured.

Fault Location Info

Physical Network Provider: specifies the physical network plane for which the alarm is generated.

Additional Info

error_info: provides alarm exception information.

Impact on the System

Split-brain may occur on VMs using this network when the VMs are restarted by the HA mechanism.

Possible Causes

  • The detection VLAN is not configured for the physical network plane, and split-brain may occur during the HA process.
  • An exception occurs during port creation on hosts after the detection VLAN is configured for the physical network plane.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the value of Physical Network Provider based on the alarm details.
  2. Log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client.

For details, see Logging In to the FusionSphere OpenStack Web Client (ManageOne Mode).

  3. Choose Configuration > Network > Configure Physical Network and check whether a detection VLAN has been configured for the physical network plane.

    • If yes, go to 7.
    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Determine whether to configure a detection VLAN for the network plane based on the live-network plan.

    • If yes, go to 5.
    • If no, locate the target row and click the modification icon. In the window displayed for modifying the physical network, select Do not generate an alarm even if the detection VLAN is not configured and submit the configuration. Then, go to 6.

  5. Configure the detection VLAN.

Perform the required operations based on the deployment scenario.

Configure the detection VLAN. For details, see "Configuring the Management and Service Network Planes" described in "Manually Configuring the Physical Network Plane Mappings" in the HUAWEI CLOUD Stack 6.5.0 O&M Guide.

Check whether the detection VLAN is configured successfully.

    • If yes, go to 6.
    • If no, go to 7.

  6. On Service OM, choose Services > Centralized O&M > Alarm > Alarm List and click Clear.
  7. Contact technical support for assistance.
