Item

Description

Backup mode

supports automatic backup of components and services, and no backup sequence is required.

After the system is installed, the automatic backup mechanism is enabled by default. Manual backup is also supported.

Automatic backup time

0:00-6:00 (recommended value. For details, see Table 1-3.)

Duration of backing up one component

Within 1 hour

Backup space

  • The local backup space depends on requirements of each component.
  • The requirements for a third-party backup server are as follows:
    • FusionSphere: 5 GB/ day
    • ManageOne: 4.5 GB/day
    • Basic services and common components: 3.5 GB/day
    • Advanced services: 9 GB/day
    • The unified backup space must be no less than 800 GB/30 days (in the scenario with 200 nodes).

Table 1-3 describes the backup policies for each HUAWEI CLOUD Stack component.

FusionSphere OpenStack

  • Automatic: CLI
  • Manual: CLI

Local, FTP, FTPS, OBS, and SFTP

03:00 (user-defined)

FusionSphere OpenStack supports automatic backup and manual backup of the management data of each service based on the following backup mechanism.

Default backup mechanism:

  • The automatic backup function is enabled for FusionSphere OpenStack by default.
  • An automatic backup is performed at 03:00 every morning.

Configuring third-party backup servers:

  • The third-party backup server can be an FTP server, SFTP server, or OBS. If a third-party backup server is configured, FusionSphere OpenStack automatically uploads the backup files to the third-party backup server after automatic or manual backup is completed on the local server. The backup files are stored on the local server regardless of whether a third-party backup server is available or not.
  • The FTP server supports the FTP and FTPS protocols. FTP is a non-encrypted transmission protocol and provides low security. Therefore, You are advised to use FTPS.
  • The maximum number of backup files that can be stored on the third-party server can be specified in the backup policy. If the number of generated backup files exceeds the limit, the system automatically deletes the earliest backup file. By default, the local backup server and the third-party backup server store seven and 30 backup files, respectively.
  • If the SSL encryption function is enabled for the third-party server, the certificate verification for the server is not required.

Service OM

  • Automatic: CLI
  • Manual: GUI/CLI

Local, FTP, FTPS, OBS, and SFTP

02:00 a.m. (recommended value, do not modify.)

Service OM supports automatic and manual backup based on the following backup mechanisms:

NOTE:

During HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy installation, Service OM is automatically registered with the FusionSphere OpenStack backup service list to implement automatic Service OM backup. If you need to manually back up Service OM, perform operations by referring to Unified Backup.

Use the backup mechanism of the Service OM.

Default backup mechanism:
  • An automatic backup is performed at 02:00 every morning.
  • Automatic and manual backup files are stored in separate directories.
  • When the number of automatic backup files stored on the local server exceeds the allowed maximum number (the default number is 7), the system automatically deletes the earliest backup file. When you run commands to manually back up data, the system displays a message informing you of deleting the files if the number of generated backup files exceeds the maximum number.

FusionCompute

For details, see FusionCompute Backup and Restoration in FusionSphere V100R006C10SPC530 Product Documentation (for FusionCloud V100R002C00SPC610).

Cloud Management

ManageOne

  • Automatic: GUI
  • Automatic: GUI

SFTP

01:30 (user-defined)

ManageOne supports automatic and manual backup of critical data based on the following backup mechanism:

  • Default backup policy: Full backup is performed at 01:30 every day.
  • By default, backup files are retained for seven days. If backup files are stored for more than seven days, the system will automatically delete the earliest backup files.
  • Third-party backup
    • The third-party server can be an SFTP server. After the third-party backup server is configured, the system automatically uploads the backup files to the third-party server.
    • After setting the parameters of the third-party backup server, click Back up now to start the backup immediately.
