Data Restoration Scenarios

In some scenarios, the database instance is running properly but the database data of a service instance is abnormal. As a result, the service instance cannot function properly. In this case, you need to use a backup to restore data. Table 2-1 lists the common data restoration scenarios.

Scenario

Restoring data to the state at a specified time point

Restores data of the service instance to the state at a specified time point.

The periodic backup file is used.

Restoring data to the state before the service instance is upgraded

If the service instance fails to be upgraded and needs to be rolled back to the state before the upgrade, you can use backup data to restore.

The manual backup file is used.

Restoring data to the state before a major service adjustment

If the service instance becomes faulty after a major service adjustment, you can use the backup data to restore the service instance to the state before the adjustment.

The manual backup file is used.

To restore data in the following scenarios, contact Huawei technical support engineers for assistance.

  • A global fault occurs.
  • The active and standby nodes of a certain component become faulty at the same time.
  • All nodes of a certain component become faulty at the same time.
  • Multiple components become faulty at the same time.
