How Do I Check the Backup Space Size

How Do I Check the Backup Space Size

To complete database backup, ensure that backup space is sufficient.

Context

You have obtained the IP address of each database node and the password of the dbuser user.

Procedure

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the database node separately: manage_db1_ip, manage_db2_ip and manage_db3_ip.

The default username is paas, and the default password is QAZ2wsx@123!.

  2. Run the following command to check the backup space size:

    df -H

The command output is as follows:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/xvda3 18G 13G 4.7G 73% /
    devtmpfs 34G 144k 34G 1% /dev
    tmpfs 34G 0 34G 0% /dev/shm
    /dev/xvda1 1.1G 42M 957M 5% /boot
    ……
    /dev/mapper/oss_vg-opt_vol 53G 27G 24G 54% /opt
    ……
    Check the following remaining space:
    • Remaining space of the partition where the temporary backup directory is located: indicated by the value of Avail corresponding to Mounted on whose value is /.
    • Remaining space size of the partition where the local or remote backup directory is located: indicated by the value of Avail corresponding to Mounted on whose value is /opt.

  3. Check whether the backup space is sufficient.

    • If it is, no further action is required.
