Setting Backup Parameters

If a remote server is used to store the backup files, you need to set the remote server parameters.

Prerequisites
  • Use a browser to log in to the FusionStage OM zone console.
    1. Log in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal.
      • Login address: https://Address for accessing the homepage of ManageOne Maintenance Portal:31943, for example, https://oc.type.com:31943.
      • The default username is admin, and the default password is Huawei12#$.
    2. On the O&M Maps page, click the FusionStage link under Quick Links to go to the FusionStage OM zone console.
  • The remote SFTP server is available.
Context
  • FusionStage provides only basic SFTP upload and download functions. You should ensure that all SFTP configurations are properly set and the SFTP server has been set up. FusionStage does not provide the function of setting SFTP server parameters.
    NOTE:
    • Ensure that the SFTP server can ping the IP address of the Backup plane in the management zone.
    • The SSH session symmetric key encryption mode on the SFTP server does not support the CBC mode (including aes128-cbc and 3des-cbc) because the CBC encryption mode poses security risks. Attackers may decrypt the data encrypted in CBC mode without obtaining the keys. The aes128-ctr, aes192-ctr, aes256-ctr, arcfour256, or arcfour128 mode is recommended.

For details about parameters for configuring SFTP, see Table 1-15.

Table 1-15 Parameters for configuring SFTP

    Parameter

    Description

    SFTP name

    Unique SFTP configuration name.

    Type

Protocol type. Currently, only the SFTP protocol is supported.

    IP

IP address of the remote SFTP.

    Port

Port number of the SFTP server.

    Path

Path to the backup directory (where backup data files are stored) on the SFTP server. Ensure that this directory exists, permission for this directory (such as the reading, writing, and deleting permissions) is correct, and files in this directory can be automatically aged.

Set this parameter based on the path of the SFTP user. For example, if /NFS/PaaS is the path where the SFTP user is in, a directory whose owner group is sftpuser:sftpgroup and permission is 755 needs to be configured in this path. Take the /Backup directory as an example, its path is /NFS/PaaS/Backup. In this case, the value of the Path parameter is set to /Backup/.

    Username

Username for logging in to the SFTP server.

    Password

Password for logging in to the SFTP server.

  • The FusionStage Tenant Management console allows you to query the instances that can be backed up.
    1. On the FusionStage Tenant Management console, choose Application Development > Backup from the main menu. In the left navigation pane, click Instance query.
    2. On the displayed page, view instance information.
Procedure
  1. On the FusionStage Tenant Management console, choose Application Development > Backup from the main menu. In the left navigation pane, click SFTP config.
  2. Perform the operations listed in Table 1-16 on the SFTP config page.

    Table 1-16 Configuring SFTP

    Scenario

    Operation

    Remarks

    Create backup parameters.

    1. Click Create params.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, set the parameters by referring to Table 1-15.
    3. Click OK.

A maximum of 10 SFTP backup parameter records can be created.

    Modify backup parameters.

    1. Click edit in the Operation column for a specific SFTP backup parameter record.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, modify the parameter settings by referring to Table 1-15.
    3. Click OK.

During the modification, if you do not enter a new password, the original password takes effect; if you enter a new password, the new password prevails.

    Delete backup parameters.

    1. Click delete in the Operation column for a specific SFTP backup parameter record.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

After you click Delete, a dialog box with a deletion confirmation message is displayed for you to confirm your operation.

Setting Backup Policies

Plan the database backup policies in a unified manner based on the actual use of databases.

When a scheduled backup policy is created, the local time is used for time check. However, when the policy is executed, the time of the system backend VM is used. If the difference between the NTP server time and local time is too large, the policy displayed on the GUI seems to be executed five minutes later. Actually, the policy may be executed one hour or more than one hour later. Therefore, ensure that the NTP server time is synchronized with the local time.

Prerequisites

You have logged in to the FusionStage OM console.

Context

Table 1-17 describes backup policy parameters.

Table 1-17 Backup policy parameters

Parameter

Description

Example

Backup policy

Unique name of a backup policy.

Gauss-Day-Local

Namespace

Select a namespace: fst-manage (management zone)

fst-manage

Instantiation Name

A list of backup instances in the specific namespace.

apmdbsvr-10_120_175_239-21@10_120_174_212-21

Policy type

Select a backup type:

  • manual: manual backup
  • cycle: periodic backup
  • timing: scheduled backup, which is performed only once.

timing

Start time

Backup start time. This parameter must be specified when Policy type is set to cycle or timing.

23:00:00

Backup unit

Backup interval. This parameter must be specified when Policy type is set to cycle.

Valid options are as follows:

  • day: Backup is performed on a daily basis.
  • week: Backup is performed on a weekly basis.
  • month: Backup is performed on the first Monday every month.

day

Backup mode

Select a backup mode:

  • local: local backup.
    • Local backup path for storing the CFE service data: /opt/paas/backup_cfe/etcd_backup/
      NOTE:

The local backup path is on the etcd-backup node.

    • Local backup path for the database: /opt/pub/backup_local/
    NOTE:

For the tenant management zone: The local backup path for the database is on either manage_db1_ip or manage_db2_ip.

  • sftp: remote backup (to the SFTP server).

sftp

Backup Number

Maximum number of backups reserved based on the current policies.

Value range: [1,12]

NOTE:
  • Backups include logical backups and physical backups.
  • If the backup mode of the backup policy is set to local, the data in the backup task will not age.
  • Currently, backup policies can be created for the unified backup and the database backup and can be deployed in the same directory on the SFTP server without affecting each other. The number of backups on the SFTP server is the total number of backups under these two backup policies.

1

SFTP Name

  • This parameter is not displayed when the backup mode is set to local.
  • When the backup mode is set to sftp, select a desired record of backup parameters configured in Setting Backup Parameters.

-

Setting Backup Tasks

Use an existing manual backup policy to back up the database. Unified backup and restoration is used when Gauss, Redis, and CFE-ETCD services are backed up.

Prerequisites
  • You have logged in to the FusionStage OM console.
  • A manual backup policy has been properly set. For details, see Setting Backup Policies.
Context

For periodic and scheduled backup policies, the system automatically generates backup tasks based on their configurations. Therefore, you do not need to create backup tasks for periodic or scheduled backup policies.

Table 1-19 describes backup task parameters.
