Performing Unified Backup

Managing Backup Information

Prerequisites
  • You have logged in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal.
Login address: https://Floating IP address of ManageOne Maintenance Portal:31943. For example, if the IPv4 address is used, the login address is https://192.168.0.5:31943.
    • Floating IP address for logging in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal in the data center A (production center) in the Management Plane DR Failover scenario: uses the value of ManageOne-OM-Float-IP on the 2.1 Tool-generated IP Parameters sheet of the xxx_export_all_EN.xlsm file exported during ManageOne installation in the data center A (production center).
    • Floating IP address for logging in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal in the data center B (DR center) in the Management Plane DR Failover scenario: uses the value of ManageOne-OM-Float-IP on the 2.1 Tool-generated IP Parameters sheet of the xxx_export_all_EN.xlsm file exported during ManageOne installation in the data center B (DR center).
  • Make sure that the IP address of the backup server pings the IP address of the database node.
  • You have prepared the SFTP server by referring to Preparing the SFTP Server.
    • You have obtained the IP address and port number of the backup server, the username and password of the SFTP protocol, and the storage path for the backup files.
    • You have obtained the permission to access the SFTP shared directory.
Adding a Backup Server

After ManageOne is deployed, you need to add a backup server in each region.

NOTE:
  • There can be at most one backup server in each region.
  • If multiple regions need to use the same backup server, you can set different backup paths to distinguish them.
  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  2. Click Add Backup Server. Set the parameters of the backup server by referring to Table 1-7.

    Table 1-7 Parameter description

    Parameter

    Description

    Remarks

    Select Region

Indicates the region in which the data needs to be backed up.

    1. The system provides only basic SFTP upload and download capabilities. The SFTP configurations and server establishment are ensured by users.
    2. If you use a remote server, ensure that the SFTP server is available and that the remote backup directory exists and is readable and writable to SFTP users.
    3. ManageOne only supports SFTP servers running Linux and EulerOS.

    Backup Server Type

Indicates a backup server type. Currently, only SFTP is supported.

    Server IP Address

Indicates the SFTP server IP address, for example, 192.168.3.16.

    Port Number

Indicates the SFTP server port. The default value is 22.

    Username

Indicates the username for logging in to the SFTP server. Use the actual username.

    Password

Indicates the user password for logging in to the SFTP server. Use the actual password.

    Backup Path

Indicates the backup path of the SFTP server. Set this parameter based on the site requirements. It is the relative path to the user-writable directory of the SFTP server. For example, if the absolute backup path of the OS is /datas/backup/sftpuser and the user-writable directory of the SFTP server is /datas/backup, set this parameter to /sftpuser.

  3. After the parameters are set, click OK. Wait until the backup server information is synchronized.

If the synchronization status is successful, the configuration is successful.

If the synchronization status is failed, perform manual synchronization by referring to Synchronizing Backup Server Information.

Modifying Backup Server Parameters
  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  2. Click in the row that contains the backup server in the Backup Server Parameters area to set the parameters described in Table 1-7.

    NOTE:

In the Modify Backup Server Parameters dialog box, you can choose whether to delete the tasks.

    • Yes: The backup tasks of the corresponding region and system will be deleted and the backup files corresponding to the tasks will not be deleted.
    • No: The backup tasks and backup files remain unchanged.

  3. After the parameters are modified, click OK. Wait until the backup server information is synchronized.

If the synchronization status is successful, the modification is successful.

If the synchronization status is failed, perform manual synchronization by referring to Synchronizing Backup Server Information.

Deleting a Backup Server
  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  2. Click in the row that contains the backup server to delete the backup server.

    NOTE:

After you click this button, you can choose whether to delete the backup task.

    • Yes: The backup tasks of the corresponding region and system will be deleted and the backup files corresponding to the tasks will not be deleted.
    • No: The backup tasks and backup files remain unchanged.

Synchronizing Backup Server Information

After you add, modify, or delete backup server parameters, the system automatically synchronizes backup server information to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region. If automatic synchronization fails, perform the following operations to manually synchronize all configured backup server information to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region.

  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  2. Click Synchronize Information to synchronize the backup server information to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region.
  3. In the Backup Server Parameters area, view the synchronization status of the current backup server information.

    • To be synchronized: The backup server information is to be synchronized to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region.
    • Synchronizing: The backup server information is being synchronized to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region.
    • Successful: The backup server information has been synchronized to the interconnected systems in the corresponding region.
    • Failed: The synchronization task failed. Contact technical support for assistance.

Refreshing Backup Server Information
  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  2. Click Refresh to refresh the backup server information.
Manually Backing Up Data
  1. Configure the backup server on ManageOne. For details, see Adding a Backup Server.

    NOTE:

Configure the backup server for other systems by referring to Adding a Backup Server. Otherwise, the backup files will be saved to the VMs of the system. For details about the save path, see Backup File Name and Directory.

  2. Choose System > Unified Backup > Backup Information from the main menu.
  3. Click Immediate backup.
  4. In the displayed Batch Confirm Backup Information dialog box, click Immediate backup.

Viewing the Task List

After a unified backup task is started, you can view the execution status of the task on the task list page.

Prerequisites

You have logged in to ManageOne Maintenance Portal.

Checking the Backup Task Status
  1. Choose System > Unified Backup > Task List from the main menu.
  2. In the Task Result column, view the task execution result.

    • Successful: The data is backed up to the backup server.
    • Failed: Rectify the failure by referring to Handling Backup Failures.
