CSBS-VBS Console Information Collection

CSBS-VBS Console Information Collection

To understand the activity status of a CSBS-VBS Console node, you can periodically export data related to CSBS-VBS Console for checking and analysis. You can use SmartKit tool to collect information about CSBS-VBS Console nodes. The information to be collected includes: CSBS-VBS Console system information, such as CPU load and memory status as well as CSBS-VBS Console logs. SmartKit was named OceanStor Toolkit. This section takes SmartKit as an example.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained a SmartKit installation package of V2R5C00RC9 or later from the maintenance terminal. This section uses V2R5C00RC9 as an example. The package name is SmartKit V2R5C00RC9.zip. Obtain the installation package as follows:
    NOTE:

    When downloading software packages, obtain the .asc signature file and use the digital signature public key and validation tool provided by the Huawei support website to validate software package integrity.

    1. Click the image next to the download button to download the digital signature file (.asc) that has the same name as a software package. Specifically:
      • For enterprise users:
      • For carrier users:
    2. The digital signature public key, validation tool, and their usage methods can be obtained as follows:
  • You have obtained the OceanStor BCManager 6.5.X_CBS_Collect_Inspect.zip software package. It contains tool packages used for inspection and information collection. Obtain the software package as follows:

    The software package name varies with the actual software version.

    NOTE:

    When downloading software packages, obtain the .asc signature file and use the digital signature public key and validation tool provided by the Huawei support website to validate software package integrity.

    1. Click the image next to the download button to download the digital signature file (.asc) that has the same name as a software package. Specifically:
      • For enterprise users:
      • For carrier users:
    2. The digital signature public key, validation tool, and their usage methods can be obtained as follows:
  • The CSBS-VBS Console nodes are running properly.
  • The IP address of the CSBS-VBS Console node and the password of user cbs_admin have been obtained. The initial password of the cbs_admin account is Huawei12#$.

Procedure

  1. Decompress the OceanStor BCManager 6.5.X_CBS_Collect_Inspect.zip software package on the maintenance terminal.

    The following file is obtained:

    CBS_Console_Collect.zip

  2. Install and log in to SmartKit (software package: SmartKit V2R5C00RC9.zip). If SmartKit has been installed, skip this step.

    NOTE:

    The operation methods for SmartKit vary with versions.

  3. Import the information collection tool package for information collection of CSBS-VBS Console. If the information collection tool package has been imported, skip this step.

    1. On the home page of SmartKit, click Function Management.

    2. Click Import.

    3. In the Import dialog box that is displayed, select the CBS_Console_Collect.zip information collection tool package and click OK.
    4. In the Verification and Installation window that is displayed, select Information Collection and click Install.

    5. After the installation is complete, the Import succeeded dialog box is displayed. Click OK.

  4. Select Storage in the navigation tree on the left and click Storage Information Collection in the function pane.

  5. In the Storage Information Collection window, click the Information Collection area.

  6. Add the CSBS-VBS Console node. If CSBS-VBS Console nodes have been added, skip this step.

    1. Click Add Devices.

    2. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the IP address of the CSBS-VBS Console node.

      To obtain the IP address of Karbor node, search for CSBS_Console1 and CSBS_Console2 respectively in the Tool-generated IP Parameters sheet of xxx_export_all_EN.xlsm exported from HUAWEI CLOUD Stack Deploy.

    3. Click Next.
    4. Configure authentication information. The user name is cbs_admin, and its default password is Huawei12#$.

    5. Click Finish.

      If the following window is displayed, click OK.

      If the following window is displayed, click OK.

    6. If there are multiple CSBS-VBS Console nodes, repeat the preceding steps to add nodes.

  7. Select the added device and click Collect.

  8. After information is collected, click Open Directory and view the collected logs.
