An access key ID (AK) and a secret access key (SK) form a pair of authentication certificates. OBS (compatible with Amazon S3 APIs) authenticates requests using AK/SK pairs. A tenant or user uses the AK/SK to access OBS, and OBS (compatible with Amazon S3 APIs) authenticates the tenant or user identity using the AK/SK pairs.

  • AK: refers to access key ID. An AK belongs to only one tenant or user, but one tenant or user can have up to two AKs. OBS (compatible with Amazon S3 APIs) uses AKs to identify tenants or users accessing the system.
  • SK: refers to secrete access key. Tenants or users generate authentication information according to the SK and the request header. One SK maps to one AK.
