What Is vAPP?

What Is vAPP?

vAPP is an engine for resource orchestration and automatic deployment based on Resource Template Service (RTS). It allows users to drag diagram elements on the visualized orchestration interface to quickly and automatically deploy computing, storage, network, and application resources based on service requirements and serves users as a whole, helping quick service rollout.

The vAPP service allows users to:

  • Manage instances. For example, apply for, view, update, extend, and delete vAPP instances.
  • Manage scripts. For example, add, check, modify, and delete scripts.
  • Manage templates. For example, view, create, export, delete, modify and copy templates, and use templates to create products.

vAPP has the following restrictions:

  • Before using the vAPP, ensure that the "Standard edition and value-added feature" license of ManageOne supporting the vAPP service has been imported and the resource pool has been updated.
    • For details about detailed license operations, see chapter "ManageOne" in FusionCloud License Guide.
    • The operation administrator updates the resource pool on the System > Cloud Resource Pool Access > Private Cloud Access page.
  • If the RTS is manually deployed, the operation administrator needs to update the resource pool on the System > Cloud Resource Pool Access > Private Cloud Access page before the vAPP is used.
  • The template package to be imported must be in the ZIP format.
  • The RTS template package to be imported cannot include any folder.
  • The file name extension of the RTS template file to be imported must be .template, .yaml, or .json
  • The file name of the RTS template file to be imported cannot contain any Chinese character.
  • An RTS template has a maximum of 5 nested layers.
  • The script monitoring is not supported.
  • For the environment migrated from ManageOne 3.X, only the scaling group configuration of the vAPP instance can be modified.
