A VM image is a disk partition with an OS installed. The VM image stores all information about VM hard disks so that you can use it to provision a VM rapidly.

Various tools and methods are available for creating VM images. This document describes how to create a VM image using the FusionSphere OpenStack system, including creating a VM on Service OM, installing an OS and application software for the VM, and exporting the VM into an image and converting the image format. You can also create an image using your own method.

When creating an image, you can install UVP VMTools into the image to improve VM performance. For details about UVP VMTools functions, see Private Image.
