Information Collection

To understand the activity status of a Karbor node, you can periodically export data related to Karbor for checking and analysis. You can use SmartKit to collect information about some Karbor nodes. The information to be collected includes: Karbor system information, such as CPU load and memory status as well as logs related to the Karbor component. SmartKit has been named OceanStor Toolkit. This section takes SmartKit as an example.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained a SmartKit installation package of V2R5C00RC4 or a later version. This section uses V2R5C00RC4 as an example. The package name is SmartKit V2R5C00RC4.zip. Obtain the installation package as follows:
    NOTE:

    When downloading a software package, obtain the .asc signature file and use the digital signature public key and validation tool provided by the Huawei support website to validate the software package integrity.

    1. Click the download button to download the digital signature file (.asc) that has the same name as the software package. Specifically:
      • For enterprise users:
      • For carrier users:
    2. The public key file, verification tool and its usage can be obtained as follows:
  • The OceanStor BCManager V200R001C30xx_CBS_Collect_Inspect.zip software package has been obtained. It can be downloaded as follows:

    The software package name varies with the actual software version.

    NOTE:

    When downloading a software package, obtain the .asc signature file and use the digital signature public key and validation tool provided by the Huawei support website to validate the software package integrity.

    1. Click the download button to download the digital signature file (.asc) that has the same name as the software package. Specifically:
      • For enterprise users:

    2. The public key file, verification tool and its usage can be obtained as follows:
  • The Karbor nodes are running properly.
  • The IP address of the Karbor node and the password of user djmanager have been obtained. The initial password of the djmanager account is CloudService@123!.

Procedure

  1. Decompress the OceanStor BCManager V200R001C30xx_CBS_Collect_Inspect.zip software package on the maintenance terminal.

    The following file are obtained:

    CBS_Karbor_Collect.zip

  2. Install and log in to SmartKit. If SmartKit has been installed, skip the installation step.

    NOTE:

    The operation methods for SmartKit vary with versions.

  3. Import the information collection tool package for information collection of Karbor. If the information collection tool package has been imported, skip this step.

    1. On the menu bar, choose > ToolStore. Click Import to import the CBS_Karbor_Collect.zip package.
    2. In the Verification and Installation window that is displayed, select Information Collection and click Install.

    3. After the installation is complete, the Import succeeded dialog box is displayed. Click OK.

  4. In the upper left corner of the user interface, choose > MyTools > Storage > Routine Maintenance. In the function plane, click Information Collection.

  5. Add Karbor nodes. If Karbor nodes have been added, skip this step.

    NOTE:

    Add information about the first or second Karbor node. Then information about other nodes is automatically synchronized.

    1. Click Add Devices.

    2. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the IP address of the first Karbor node.

      To obtain the IP address of Karbor node, search for CSBS_Service1 and CSBS_Service2 respectively in the LLD generated by FCD sheet of xxx_export_all.xlsm.

    3. Click Next.
    4. Configure authentication information.The default password of the djmanager account is CloudService@123!.

    5. Click Finish.

      If the following window is displayed, click OK.

      If the following window is displayed, click OK.

  6. Select the added device and click Collect.

  7. After information is collected, click Open Directory and view the collected logs.
