Node Faults

Node Faults

Single-Node Fault

Symptom

Some CSBS and VBS backup tasks are abnormal, and a node exception alarm is displayed on the alarm page.

Possible Causes
  • Possible cause 1: Network connectivity is abnormal.
  • Possible cause 2: A VM is abnormal.
  • Possible cause 3: An operating system is abnormal.
  • Possible cause 4: A node is faulty.
Procedure

Possible cause 1: Network connectivity is abnormal.

  1. In the LLD generated by FCD sheet in xxx_export_all.xlsm , search for CSBS_Service to obtain the IP address.
  2. Use PuTTY to log in to a normal Service-CSBS node using the management plane IP address of the Service-CSBS node.

The default account and password are djmanager and CloudService@123!, respectively.

  3. Run the su - root command to switch to the root account.

The default password of the root account is Cloud12#$.

  4. Run the ping IP address of the abnormal node command to check whether the network connection is normal.

    • If yes, see possible cause 2.
    • If no, go to 5.

  5. Log in to the ManageOne OM plane using a browser.

    • URL: https://Address for the homepage of the ManageOne OM plane:31943. For example: https://oc.type.com:31943.
    • Default username: admin, default password: Huawei12#$.

  6. In the navigation bar on ManageOne, select O&M Maps. The O&M Maps page is displayed.
  7. On the O&M Maps page, choose Configuration > Cloud Services > Compute Services > Compute Instances.
  8. Set the search criterion to IP. In the search box, enter the IP address of the abnormal node and press Enter.
  9. In the Operation column of the node, choose More > VNC Login and use the djmanager account to log in to the abnormal Service-CSBS node.
  10. Run the ifconfig command to check the network configuration.

    • If no network adapter is configured, go to 14.
    • If a network adapter is configured, go to 11.

  11. Run the service network status command to check the network service status.

    • If the status is abnormal, go to 14.
    • If the status is normal, go to 12.

  12. Run the iptables -nL command to check the firewall of the abnormal node.

    • If a firewall is configured, go to 14.
    • If no firewall is configured, go to 13.

  13. Run the route command to check the network route of the node.

    • If the route is normal, contact technical support engineers.
    • If the route is abnormal, go to 14.

  14. Contact the network administrator.

Possible cause 2: A VM is abnormal.

  1. Log in to the ManageOne OM plane using a browser.

    • URL: https://Address for the homepage of the ManageOne OM plane:31943. For example: https://oc.type.com:31943.
    • Default username: admin, default password: Huawei12#$.

  2. In the navigation bar on ManageOne, select O&M Maps. The O&M Maps page is displayed.
  3. On the O&M Maps page, choose Configuration > Cloud Services > Compute Services > Compute Instances.
  4. Set the search criterion to IP. In the search box, enter the IP address of the abnormal node and press Enter. Check the status of the abnormal Service-CSBS node.

    • If the status of the Service-CSBS node is Normal or Running, check possible cause 3.
    • If the status of the Service-CSBS node is neither Normal nor Running, the VM is abnormal. Go to 5.

  5. In the Operation column of the node, choose More > Force Restart to forcibly restart the abnormal Service-CSBS node.

    • If the status is Running, the restart is successful. Check whether the alarm is automatically cleared. If not, manually clear it.
    • If the status is not Running, the restart fails. Contact technical support engineers.

Possible cause 3: An operating system is abnormal.

  5. In the Operation column of the node, choose More > VNC Login and use the djmanager account to log in to the abnormal Service-CSBS node.

    • If the login is successful, see possible cause 4.
    • If the login fails, the operating system is abnormal. Go to 6.

Possible cause 4: A node is faulty.

  5. In the Operation column of the node, choose More > Force Restart to forcibly restart the abnormal Service-CSBS node. If the node cannot be restarted, it is faulty.
  6. Contact technical support engineers to reinstall the faulty node using the management data backup.
