Parameters
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
seconds | Sets the timeout interval at which a DHCP relay agent in proxy mode receives DHCP packets. | The value is an integer that ranges from 1 to 120, in seconds. |
Usage Guidelines
The dhcp proxy timeout command is used on a DHCP relay agent in proxy mode. When a DHCP client requests an IP address from a DHCP server, the DHCP relay agent in proxy mode receives and forwards DHCP packets exchanged between the client and server, and generates and updates users entries. By default, the timeout interval at which a DHCP relay agent in proxy mode receives DHCP packets is 5s. If the DHCP relay agent does not receive a reply packet within 5s after forwarding a DHCP packet, it deletes the corresponding user entry and terminates the IP address application process. You can run the dhcp proxy timeout command to set the timeout interval at which a DHCP relay agent in proxy mode receives DHCP packets based on the actual network status.
