icmp-reply fast
Function
The icmp-reply fast command enables the fast ICMP reply function on wireless access controller.
The undo icmp-reply fast command disables the fast ICMP reply function on wireless access controller.
By default, the fast ICMP reply function is enabled on wireless access controller.
Usage Guidelines
After the fast ICMP reply function is enabled on wireless access controller, the switches fast respond to the ICMP echo request packets whose destination addresses are the addresses of the switches.
After
the fast ICMP reply function is enabled on wireless access controller, wireless access controller respond to ICMP echo packets quickly in the following situations:
- wireless access controller do not have the ARP entry of the device that initiates the ping. However, the switches cannot learn the ARPentries of this device in this case.
