vrrp gratuitous-arp timeout disable
Function
The vrrp gratuitous-arp timeout disable command disables the master from sending gratuitous ARP packets.
By default, the master sends gratuitous ARP packets every 120s.
Usage Guidelines
Usage Scenario
When a VRRP group runs properly, the master periodically sends gratuitous ARP packets so that MAC address entries on the downstream switch can be updated immediately. Sending gratuitous ARP packets may cause ARP attacks. If the system requires high security, run the vrrp gratuitous-arp timeout disable command to disable the master from sending gratuitous ARP packets.
PrecautionsAfter the vrrp gratuitous-arp timeout disable command is executed, the master does not send gratuitous ARP packets. In this situation, MAC address entries on the downstream switch may be not updated immediately if a VRRP active/standby switchover is performed, causing data loss on the downstream switch.
