car (QoS profile view)

Function

The car command set the traffic policing parameters in a QoS profile.

The undo car command deletes the traffic policing parameters from a QoS profile.

By default, no traffic policing parameters are set in a QoS profile.

Sets traffic policing parameters for incoming traffic.

Sets traffic policing parameters for outgoing traffic.

cir cir-value

Specifies the committed information rate (CIR), which is the average rate of traffic that can pass through.

The value is an integer that ranges from 64 to 4294967295, in kbit/s.

pir pir-value

Specifies the peak information rate (PIR), which is the maximum rate of traffic that can pass through.

The value is an integer that ranges from 64 to 4294967295, in kbit/s. The PIR value must be larger than or equal to the CIR value. By default, the PIR value is equal to the CIR value.

cbs cbs-value

Specifies the committed burst size (CBS), which is the average volume of burst traffic that can pass through.

The value is an integer that ranges from 1500 to 4294967295, in bytes.

The default setting is as follows:
  • If the PIR is not set or the PIR and CIR are the same, the CBS is 188 times the CIR. If the value 188 times the CIR exceeds the maximum value (4294967295) of the CBS, 4294967295 is used.
  • If the PIR is set and the PIR and CIR are different, the CBS is 125 times the CIR. If the value 125 times the CIR exceeds the maximum value (4294967295) of the CBS, 4294967295 is used.
pbs pbs-value

Specifies the peak burst size (PBS), which is the maximum volume of burst traffic that can pass through.

The value is an integer that ranges from 1500 to 4294967295, in bytes.

The default setting is as follows:
  • If the PIR is not set or the PIR and CIR are the same, the PBS is 313 times the CIR. If the value 313 times the CIR exceeds the maximum value (4294967295) of the PBS, 4294967295 is used.
  • If the PIR is set and the PIR and CIR are different, the PBS is 125 times the PIR. If the value 125 times the PIR exceeds the maximum value (4294967295) of the PBS, 4294967295 is used.

You can run the car command to set traffic policing parameters to limit incoming and outgoing traffic.
