The rf-ping command enables an AP to automatically detect wireless link quality.


rf-ping [ -m time | -c number ] [ -p { be | bk | vi | vo }] * mac-address


Parameter Description Value
-m time Specifies the interval for sending probe data packets. The value is an integer that ranges from 100 to 10000, in milliseconds. The default value is 1000.
-c number Specifies the number of probe data packets sent by the AP. The value is an integer that ranges from 1 to 1000. The default value is 1.
-p { be | bk | vi | vo } Specifies the priority of probe data packets sent by the AP, which can be AC_BE, AC_BK, AC_VI, or AC_VO. If this parameter is not specified, the default priority is AC_BK. -
mac-address MAC address of a STA. The value is in H-H-H format. An H is a hexadecimal number of 4 digits.

Use Scenario

This command allows an AP to automatically detect wireless link quality based on link parameters, including the signal strength, data rate on air port, and delay in packet transmission.


STAs have been associated with the APs and go online.


# Configure an AP to automatically detect quality of the link between the AP and STA with the MAC address 14cf-9202-13dc.
