Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

You can run the mirror vap command to configure the VAP-based mirroring function, which helps to monitor and analyze packets passing through an interface.

You can configure mirroring of either the incoming or outgoing packets, or both incoming and outgoing packets to an observing port.

Prerequisites

An observing port has been configured using the observe-port command.

Precautions

  • The mirroring function does not affect system security but increases system overhead. Therefore, disable the mirroring function immediately when you do not need this function.

  • To configure VAP-based mirroring on an interface again, run the undo mirror vap command to cancel the existing mirroring configuration first.

Example

# Mirror incoming packets on an air interface of a VAP to an observing port.
