dns-server (WAN view)


The dns server command configures an IP address for a DNS server.

The undo dns server command deletes the IP address of a DNS server.

By default, no IP address is configured for a DNS server.


dns-server ip-address1 [ ip-address2 ]

undo dns-server ip-address1 [ ip-address2 ]






Specifies the IP address of the primary DNS server.

The value is in dotted decimal notation.


Specifies the IP address of the secondary DNS server.

The value is in dotted decimal notation.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

A cloud AP sends a request to the primary DNS server to apply for a domain name. If the AP does not receive any response within a specified period of time, it sends the request again. If there is still no response from the primary DNS server after it sends the request for a specified number of times, the cloud AP sends the request to the secondary DNS server.
