Description

The interface was added to the SEP segment.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: Failed to send preemption request packets.

    The chip of the device may fail. In this case, collect configurations and log messages, and then contact technical support personnel.

  2. Cause 2: The remote device failed to receive preemption request packets.
    1. Run the reset sep interface interface-type interface-number statistics command on the local and remote devices to clear the statistics about the SEP protocol packets on the specified interface on the SEP segment.
    2. Run the display sep interface interface-type interface-number [ verbose ] command on the local device to view the PREEMPT REQ TLV field. Check whether there is count displayed in the tx sub-field.

      • If there is count displayed in the tx sub-field in the PREEMPT REQ TLV field, it indicates that the local device has sent preemption request packets. In this case, go to c.
      • If there is no count displayed in the tx sub-field in the PREEMPT REQ TLV field, it indicates that the local device has not sent preemption request packets. In this case, go to e.

    3. Run the display sep interface interface-type interface-number [ verbose ] command on the remote device to view the PREEMPT ACK TLV field. Check whether there is count displayed in the rx sub-field.

      • If there is count displayed in the rx sub-field in the PREEMPT ACK TLV field, it indicates that the remote device has received preemption request packets. In this case, go to e.
      • If there is no count displayed in the rx sub-field in the PREEMPT ACK TLV field, it indicates that the remote device has not received preemption request packets. In this case, go to d.

    4. Check whether the link frequently alternates between Up and Down states.

      • If the link frequently alternates between Up and Down states, replace the hardware or optical fibers.
      • If the link status remains unchanged, go to e.

    5. Collect configurations and log messages, and then contact technical support personnel.

SEP/6/RCV_CFM_FAULT

Message

SEP/6/RCV_CFM_FAULT:The SEP receives an error notification from the CFM. (Segment ID=[ULONG], Port Name=[STRING], Fault State=[STRING])

Description

After the SEP segment was associated with CFM, CFM sends a fault notification to the SEP segment through the OAM module when detecting a connectivity fault or a fault recovery event.

Possible Causes

  • SEP port hello fail timer expired: The Hello Fail Timer timed out on the port.
  • SEP port received neighbour packet: The port received a neighbor Down or Up packet.
  • SEP brother port's LSA information change: The LSA information of the port's brother port changed.
  • SEP neighbour port disable: The port's neighbor port left the SEP segment.
  • SEP loop detected: No blocked port was detected in the SEP segment.
  • SEP port preempt: The port was preempted.

    • If a port added to the SEP segment has gone Up or Down, this trap message is informational only, and no action is required.

    • If no port added to the SEP segment has gone Up or Down, go to Step 4.

  4. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

SEP/5/SEP_SET_PORT_FORWARD
