Description

An RRPP ring failed.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
domain-id RRPP domain ID
ring-id RRPP ring ID
Reason Log generation reason:
  • fail-timer expired: The Fail timer expired.

Possible Causes

The Fail timer expired, triggering an RRPP ring failure.

Procedure

  1. Run the display rrpp brief command on all RRPP ring devices to check whether each device has RRPP enabled.

    • If RRPP is enabled on each device, go to Step 2.
    • If RRPP is not enabled on all devices, run the rrpp enable and ring enable commands to enable RRPP. If the fault persists, go to Step 2.

  2. Check whether the traffic from the primary port can reach the secondary port.

    • If the traffic is reachable, go to Step 4.
    • If the traffic is unreachable, go to Step 3.

  3. Check whether the physical link fails.

    • If the link is working properly, go to Step 4.
    • If the link does not work properly, locate and rectify the fault. If the RRPP ring fault persists, go to Step 4.

  4. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

      • If the Down link layer protocol state is normal, this log is informational only, and no action is required.
      • If the Down link layer protocol state is abnormal, run the undo shutdown command to enable the port. If the RRPP ring fault persists, go to Step 2.

    2. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  • Cause 2: The master node received a Link Down packet.
    1. Locate the failed device based on the MAC address displayed in Info.

      • If the device failure is normal, this log is informational only, and no action is required.
      • If the device failure is abnormal, locate the reason and rectify the fault. If the RRPP ring fault persists, go to Step 2.

    2. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
