ARP/6/ARPIGNORETC: The user chooses [Y/N] when deciding whether to ignore topology change.

Description

When deciding whether to ignore the changes of topology, the user chose [Y/N].

Parameters

Possible Causes

The arp topology-change disable command was run in the system view, and the user needs to decide whether to ignore the changes of topology.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the ARP entries are updated or not after the topology changed.

Possible Causes

When receiving a non-gratuitous ARP packet, the device found that it had saved the corresponding ARP entry of the IP address in this ARP packet, but the MAC address in the ARP entry was different from the source MAC address in the ARP packet. Or the device receives a probe ARP packet. The source IP address is 0.0.0.0, the destination IP address is the same as the IP address of the inbound interface that receives the packet, but the source MAC address is different than the MAC address of the inbound interface.

Procedure

  1. Change the IP address of a device that conflicts with the other IP address. Then, check whether this log message is still generated.

    • If this log message is still generated, go to Step 3.
    • If this log message is not generated, go to Step 4.

  2. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  3. End.

ARP/4/ARP_DUPLICATE_IPADDR

Message

ARP/4/ARP_DUPLICATE_IPADDR:Received an ARP packet with a duplicate IP address from the interface. (IpAddress=[IPADDR], InterfaceName=[STRING], MacAddress=[STRING])

Description

Received an ARP packet with a conflictive IP address from the interface.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
IpAddress Indicates the conflicting IP addresses.
InterfaceName Indicates the name of an interface.
MacAddress Indicates a MAC address.

Possible Causes

The source IP address of the ARP packet was the same as the IP address of the interface that received the ARP packet. Or the device receives a probe ARP packet. The source IP address is 0.0.0.0, the destination IP address is the same as the IP address of the inbound interface that receives the packet, but the source MAC address is different than the MAC address of the inbound interface.

Procedure

  1. Check whether another interface in the network is configured with the same IP address.
  2. Check whether the interface was attacked.

ARP/6/RSTARPDYNAMIC

Message

ARP/6/RSTARPDYNAMIC: The user chooses [Y/N] when deciding whether to reset arp dynamic.

Description

[Y/N] is selected when a message is displayed asking you whether to clear all dynamic ARP entries.
