L2IFPPI/4/MAC_ARP_WARN

Message

L2IFPPI/4/MAC_ARP_WARN:The MAC address update ARP command has been configured, and this command will degrade the performance of slot [STRING].

Description

After the switch is enabled with MAC address triggered ARP entry update, the performance of slot may deteriorate.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[STRING] Slot ID.

Possible Causes

The switch is enabled with MAC address triggered ARP entry update. This log is generated when the switch has the X series cards installed.

Procedure

  1. If MAC address triggered ARP entry update is not required, disable MAC address triggered ARP entry update globally. If MAC address triggered ARP entry update is required, no action is required.

L2IFPPI/4/MAC_DST_AGE_WARN

Message

L2IFPPI/4/MAC_DST_AGE_WARN:In the [STRING1] resource mode, the command mac-address destination hit aging enable does not take effect on the card in slot [STRING2].

Description

In this resource mode, the device does not support aging of the MAC address entry of which the destination MAC address of packets is matched.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[STRING1] The card works mode.
[STRING2] Indicates the slot ID.

Possible Causes

The card works in mac-fib or enhanced-mac mode.

Procedure

  1. To age the MAC address entry of which the destination MAC address of packets is matched, change the resource mode.
  2. If the MAC address entry of which the destination MAC address of packets is matched needs to be aged, no action is required.

L2IFPPI/3/COMMANDFAILED

Message

L2IFPPI/3/COMMANDFAILED:Command execution fails. (ServiceName=[STRING], ErrorCode=[ULONG])

Description

The system records the service type and error code when commands fail to be executed.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
ServiceName Indicates the service type for the execution failure.
ErrorCode Indicates the error code for the execution failure.

Possible Causes

Hardware resources are insufficient. As a result, commands fail to be delivered.

Procedure

  1. Delete the commands that fail to be configured and check whether commands are reconfigured successfully.
    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.
  2. Obtain log and configuration files and contact technical support personnel.
  3. End.

L2IFPPI/3/MACCFGFAILED

Message

L2IFPPI/3/MACCFGFAILED:Failed to add the MAC address entry. (Type=[STRING], MAC=[STRING], VLAN/VSI=[ULONG], VLANVALID=[ULONG], ErrorCode=[ULONG])

Description

Failed to add MAC address entries.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
Type Indicates the type of the MAC address entry that fails to be added.
MAC Indicates the MAC address that fails to be added.
VLAN/VSI Indicates the VLAN ID or VSI index corresponding to the MAC address entry that fails to be added.
VLANVALID Indicates the VLAN ID or VSI index.
ErrorCode Indicates the error code for a failure to add MAC address entries.

Possible Causes

MAC address entries fail to be delivered because MAC address table resources are insufficient or a MAC address hash conflict occurs.

Procedure

  1. Delete the command used to deliver MAC address entries and reconfigure the command.
    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.
  2. Obtain log and configuration files and contact technical support personnel.
  3. End.

L2IFPPI/4/PORTSECSTATICFLP

Message

L2IFPPI/4/PORTSECSTATICFLP:Interface received a packet with flapping static MAC. (MacAddr=[STRING], VLAN=[ULONG], InterfaceName=[STRING])

Description

The source MAC address in the packet received by an interface already exists in the static MAC table of another interface.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
MacAddr This object indicates the MAC address.
VLAN This object indicates the VLAN ID.
InterfaceName This object indicates the interface name.

Possible Causes

An interface with port security enabled received a packet, and the source MAC address in the packet already exists in the static MAC table of another interface.

Procedure

  1. Confirm whether this packet needs to be processed.

    • If so, go to step 2.
    • If not, go to step 3.

  2. Run the display mac-address [ vlan vlan-id | interface-type interface-number ] * command to check the interface corresponding to the MAC address in the packet, and then run the undo mac-address [ interface-type interface-number | vlan vlan-id ] * command to delete the existing MAC address entry.
  3. End.

L2IFPPI/4/PORTVLANCHECK

Message

L2IFPPI/4/PORTVLANCHECK:The VE interface and the port in slot [STRING] cannot be added to the same VLAN [ULONG], which may cause an exception on the switch.

Description

The VE interface and interface on the board in slot [STRING] cannot be added to the same VLAN. Otherwise, service exceptions may occur on the switch.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

slot [STRING]

Indicates a slot ID.

VLAN [ULONG]

Indicates a VLAN ID.

Possible Causes

The switch has the following restrictions on Ethernet over GRE configuration:

Only interfaces on the X series cards can be added to a VLAN containing a VE interface. Otherwise, the inbound physical interface of a tunnel but not the VE interface learns MAC addresses of tunnel-side packets when you run the display mac-address dynamic slot slot-id command to view MAC addresses of other cards.

The system checks the preceding restrictions. If the system finds that the configuration does not meet the preceding restrictions, it generates a log to ask users to modify the configuration to prevent services from being affected. The system may generate this log in the following situations:

  • 1. An incorrect configuration file is used to start the switch. This configuration file does not meet the preceding restrictions. As a result, the configuration file generated after configuration restoration does not meet the preceding restrictions.
  • 2: The board is removed and then the VE interface is added to the corresponding VLAN and the board is installed again. As a result, the current configuration does not meet the preceding restrictions.
  • 3: The switch adds the interface on the board in slot [STRING] to the VLAN through VCMP auto-negotiation. As a result, the current configuration does not meet the preceding restrictions.

Procedure

  1. Based on the log information, change the VLAN to which the interface belongs to ensure that the current configuration meets the preceding restrictions.

L2IFPPI/3/TYPEMACCFGFAILED

Message

L2IFPPI/3/TYPEMACCFGFAILED:NAC user authentication is successful but MAC address cannot be added. Traffic may be interrupted. (Type=[STRING], MAC=[STRING], VLAN/VSI=[ULONG], VLANVALID=[ULONG], ErrorCode=[ULONG], ErrorReason=[STRING])

Description

User login is successful but the authenticated MAC address fails to be added, the error code and cause are recorded.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
Type Type of the MAC address that fails to be added.
MAC MAC address that fails to be added.
VLAN/VSI VLAN ID or VSI of the MAC address that fails to be added in the MAC address table.
VLANVALID VLAN ID of the MAC address table. The value 1 indicates the VLAN bound to the MAC address that fails to be added, and the value 0 indicates the VSI bound to the MAC address that fails to be added.
ErrorCode Error code about the failure to add the MAC address.
ErrorReason Cause for a failure to add the MAC address.

Possible Causes

Hardware resources are insufficient or MAC address hash conflict occurs.

Procedure

  1. Delete MAC address entries of existing users or unused MAC address entries so that users go online again. Then check whether the authenticated MAC address is added successfully.
    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.
  2. Obtain the log file and configuration file, and contact technical support personnel.
  3. End.
