Configuring Enhanced Stacking Functions
Table 3-32 describes
the enhanced stack configurations. All these operations are optional
and can be configured in any sequence.

| Configuring MAD | Multi-active detection (MAD) detects multiple master switches after a stack splits. The MAD configuration is recommended because it minimizes the impact of a stack split on services. |
| Configuring a System MAC Address Switching Delay | The system MAC address switching delay prevents traffic interruption during switching of the stack MAC address, and minimizes the impact of switching on services. |
| Configuring the Reserved VLAN of the Stack | You can change the reserved VLAN of the stack and configure services on the default reserved VLAN. |
| Configuring a Load Balancing Mode for Stack Links | You can configure a load balancing mode to ensure that traffic
is properly distributed among multiple stack links.

Only the S5720HI, S5730HI, S6720EI, S6720HI, and S6720S-EI series support load balancing for stack links. |
