Licensing Requirements and Limitations for Monitoring Interfaces

Licensing Requirements and Limitations for Monitoring Interfaces

Involved Network Elements

Monitoring interfaces are used together with the NMS and monitored devices.

Licensing Requirements

Monitoring interface is a basic feature of a switch and is not under license control.

Version Requirements

Only the S5720I-SI series (except S5720I-6X-PWH-SI-AC and S5720I-10X-PWH-SI-AC) switches support this feature.

The S3700HI and S5700HI also support monitoring interfaces, but the implementation is different from that in the S5720I-SI. The monitoring interface function described in this chapter applies only to the S5720I-SI series switches.

Feature Limitations

One S5720I-SI switch can monitor two peer devices.
