Application Scenarios for Intelligent Video O&M

Networking Requirements

Intelligent video O&M allows a switch to periodically report collected information to CampusInsight. The CampusInsight then comprehensively analyzes the received data and displays the running status of the switch, helping users identify problems in advance and improve O&M capabilities.

On CampusInsight, network administrators can monitor audio and video traffic entering the network through switches. In the network shown in Figure 15-5, cameras and IP phones connect to the network through SwitchA and SwitchB. In most cases, audio and video traffic enters the upstream network through SwitchC, with the direction marked by the green arrow.

Upon finding that the number of abnormal offline sessions on SwitchA is large, the MOS value is low, or SwitchC is faulty, the administrator can perform configurations to enable the traffic to the upstream network through SwitchD, with the direction marked by the yellow arrow.
