Configuring Fan Speed Adjustment


The device adjusts fan speed by monitoring the optical module temperature on the board. When the temperature of an optical module exceeds the upper threshold, the fan speed increases. When the temperature of optical modules falls below the lower threshold, the fan speed is reduced.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run set transceiver temperature threshold low-temperature high-temperature { all | slot slot-id }

    The upper and lower temperature thresholds for fan speed adjustment are configured.

    By default, the fan speed is reduced when the temperature falls below 60°C and is increased when the temperature exceeds 65°C.

    The following boards do not support this function:
    • SC series boards, including: ES1D2X16SSC2, ES1D2X32SSC0, EH1D2X16SSC2, ET1D2X16SSC2, EH1D2X32SSC0, ET1D2X32SSC0
    • X2E series boards, including: ES1D2S24SX2E, ES1D2S16SX2E, ES1D2X32SX2E, ES1D2L08QX2E, ES1D2C04HX2E, ES1D2H02QX2E, ET1D2S24SX2E, ET1D2S16SX2E, ET1D2X32SX2E, EH1D2L08QX2E, ET1D2C04HX2E, ET1D2H02QX2E

Verifying the Configuration

  • Run the display transceiver temperature threshold { current | default } slot slot-id command to check the upper and lower temperature thresholds of the fan module.

  • Run the display fan command to check the fan status.
