Feature Limitations

Only the switches that use MCUDs, SRUHs, or SRUEs support OIDS.

Currently, only the CPU-CHAN diagnosis type supports the OIDS diagnosis function.

Pay attention to the following when querying OIDS monitoring and diagnosis information:
  • On a dual-MPU or cluster switch, run the collect oids database file to system-master command in the system view to save OIDS database files to the active MPU before querying OIDS monitoring and diagnosis results.

  • The contents of OIDS database files cannot be manually modified.

  • OIDS database files are stored according to the actual situation at that time and can be queried only according to the actual saved information at that time. For example, if an LPU originally resides in slot 1 and is now removed and re-installed in slot 2, to query LPU information generated before the LPU is removed, check the information by specifying slot 1 in the display command. Focus on the following when checking OIDS database files:
    • LPUs are removed and then re-installed.
    • The cluster ID changes.
    • The system time changes.
  • If an interface is Down, the switch does not collect attribute data from the interface or record the data in the database files.
