How Can a Switch on the Live Network Be Expanded into a CSS of Two Switches?

How Can a Switch on the Live Network Be Expanded into a CSS of Two Switches?

Perform the following operations:
  1. Enable the CSS function on the existing switch and restart it. If the switch is in single-chassis CSS state, this operation is not required.
  2. Enable the CSS function on the new switch and restart it. After it is restarted, check whether it can run normally, run the display device command to check whether all cards of the switch have been registered normally, and then run the display css status saved command to check whether the function of specifying the master switch is configured on the switch. It is not allowed to configure this function. Therefore, if this function has been configured, run the undo css master force command to cancel it, and then power off this switch. Do not connect any cable to this switch in the whole process.
  3. Connect the existing and new switches using cluster cables.
  4. Power on the new switch and connect it using service cables.
