Clearing Statistics About IPv6 PIM Control Packets

Clearing Statistics About IPv6 PIM Control Packets

If an interface has been forwarding multicast packets for a time after IPv6 PIM is enabled, the switch stores statistics about a large number of control messages. To collect new statistics, clear the previous statistics. This operation does not affect the normal running of IPv6 PIM.

Statistics about IPv6 PIM control messages on an interface cannot be restored after you clear them. Confirm your action before clearing the statistics.

  • To clear statistics about IPv6 PIM control messages on an interface, run the reset pim ipv6 control-message counters [ interface interface-type interface-number ] command in the user view.
