Restricting the Number of Multicast Forwarding Entries

Context

Excessive multicast forwarding entries will exhaust the memory of the switch. To prevent this problem, set a limit on the number of entries in the MFIB.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run multicast forwarding-table route-limit limit

    A limit is configured for the number of entries in the MFIB.

    By default, the limit on the number of entries in the multicast forwarding table is 4096.
