Clearing MLD Snooping Entries


MLD snooping entries are classified into static and dynamic entries, which are cleared in different ways.

Static entries cannot be restored after being cleared and can be created when you configure static member ports.

After you clear the dynamic entries, hosts in a VLAN cannot receive certain multicast flows until the forwarding entries are generated based on MLD Report messages received from hosts.


  • Run the undo mld-snooping static-group { group-ipv6-address [ source source-ipv6-address ] vlan vlan-id | all } command in the interface view to remove an interface from a static multicast group.
  • Run the reset mld-snooping group { all | vlan vlan-id [ [ source-address source-ipv6-address ] group-address group-ipv6-address ] } command in the user view to clear dynamic group entries.
