Binding User VLANs to a Multicast VLAN

Binding User VLANs to a Multicast VLAN

Context

A user VLAN can be bound to a multicast VLAN on a user-side interface. A user VLAN cannot be bound to more than one multicast VLAN on the same interface.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run l2-multicast-bind vlan vlan-id1 [ to vlan-id2 ] mvlan mvlan-id

User VLANs are bound to a multicast VLAN on the interface.

    NOTE:
If you want to configure Layer 2 multicast Call Admission Control (CAC) on an interface after you bind a user VLAN to a multicast VLAN on the interface, pay attention to the following points:
    • Do not configure a limit on the number of groups on the interface.
    • When configuring a limit on the number of groups in a VLAN on the interface, ensure that the VLAN is not the user VLAN or multicast VLAN.

For details about Layer 2 multicast CAC, see Layer 2 Multicast CAC Configuration.
