Feature Limitations
A switch cannot function as both mDNS relay and gateway at the same time. A protection failure will occur if the mdns relay enable and mdns gateway enable commands are both configured on the same switch.
To prevent high CPU usage, it is recommended that you configure the following when deploying mDNS gateway services: the mDNS group function (using the mdns group group-name, user-vlan vlan-id &<1-32>, and service-vlan vlan-id &<1-32> commands) and the service types that can be recorded by the mDNS gateway (using the mdns permit service-type service-type id id command).
If high CPU usage occurs in the MDGW (mDNS gateway) module after the mDNS gateway service is deployed, configure the mDNS group function and the service types that can be recorded by the mDNS gateway to reduce CPU usage. (To check CPU usage, run the display cpu-usage command.)
