Configuring a DNS Server Address for RA Packets

Configuring a DNS Server Address for RA Packets

Context

In a scenario where IPv6 ND stateless address auto-configuration is used or DHCPv6 is not configured, configure a DNS server address for RA packets so that the host can implement the DNS service using the DNS server address in RA packets.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

The specified interface view is displayed.

  3. Run ipv6 nd ra dns-server ipv6-address [ valid-lifetime ]

A DNS server address is configured for the RA packets transmitted on the interface.

By default, RA packets do not contain a DNS server address.

A maximum of eight DNS server addresses can be configured for the RA packets transmitted on the same interface.
