(Optional) Enabling MPLS OAM to Detect Bidirectional LSPs

Context

When the working and the protection tunnels have reverse LSPs, you can enable MPLS OAM to detect bidirectional LSPs.

Before performing the following operations, configure reverse LSPs for the working and protection tunnels. The working LSP, protection LSP, and their reverse LSPs compose bidirectional LSPs.

NOTE:

The reverse LSP must be a static LSP or static CR-LSP. The working LSP and protection LSP can be a static LSP, static CR-LSP, or RSVP LSP.

It is recommended that the primary LSP and the reverse LSP be of the same type (static LSP or static CR-LSP); the protection LSP and the reverse LSP be of the same type (static LSP or static CR-LSP).

On the ingress, the inbound interface of the reverse LSP and the outbound interface of the working LSP or the protection LSP must be the same.

Procedure

  • Enable MPLS OAM to detect bidirectional LSPs of the working tunnel.

    Perform the following steps on the ingress of the working tunnel.

    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run interface tunnel interface-number

      The tunnel interface view of the working tunnel is displayed.

    3. Run mpls te reverse-lsp lsp-name lsp-name

      The reverse LSP of the working tunnel is specified.

    4. Run mpls te commit

      The current configuration of the working tunnel is committed.

  • Enable MPLS OAM to detect bidirectional LSPs of the protection tunnel.

    Perform the following steps on the ingress of the protection tunnel.

    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run interface tunnel interface-number

      The tunnel interface view of the protection tunnel is displayed.

    3. Run mpls te reverse-lsp lsp-name lsp-name

      The reverse LSP of the protection tunnel is specified.

    4. Run mpls te commit

      The current configuration of the protection tunnel is committed.
