Configuring MPLS OAM on the Egress

Context

When configuring OAM on the egress of an LSP, you can determine whether to enable the OAM auto protocol. By default, the OAM auto protocol is enabled.

Perform the following steps on the egress of the LSP.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run mpls

    The MPLS view is displayed.

  3. Run mpls oam

    MPLS OAM is enabled globally.

  4. Run quit

    Return to the system view.

  5. Configure OAM parameters on the egress.

    • If the auto protocol will be used, run mpls oam egress { lsp-name lsp-name | lsr-id ingress-lsr-id tunnel-id tunnel-id } [ auto-protocol [ overtime over-time ] ] [ backward-lsp tunnel interface-number [ private | share ] [ bdi-frequency { detect-freq | per-second } ] ]

      The OAM auto protocol is enabled.

    • If the auto protocol will not be used, run mpls oam egress { lsp-name lsp-name | lsr-id ingress-lsr-id tunnel-id tunnel-id } type { cv | ffd frequency ffd-fre } [ backward-lsp tunnel interface-number [ private | share ] [ bdi-frequency { detect-freq | per-second } ] ]

      OAM parameters are configured on the egress when the OAM auto protocol is disabled.

    If lsrid ingress-lsr-id and tunnel-id tunnel-id are specified when you create an LSP with the static-lsp egress lsp-name [ incoming-interface interface-type interface-number ] in-label in-label [ lsrid ingress-lsr-id tunnel-id tunnel-id ] or static-cr-lsp egress lsp-name [ incoming-interface interface-type interface-number ] in-label in-label [ lsrid ingress-lsr-id tunnel-id tunnel-id ] command, you can specify these two parameters in this step. Otherwise, you can only specify the parameter lsp-name lsp-name.

    By default, the OAM auto protocol is enabled. The timeout period for the first packet to wait for response is 5 minutes.

    By default, the reverse LSP is in shared mode unless it is a static LSP or a CR-LSP. In this case, it is in private mode.

    The detect-freq parameter specifies the frequency at which BDI packets are sent through the reverse LSP.

    NOTE:

    If the OAM auto protocol is enabled in Step 5, Step 6 is not necessary. When the egress receives the first CV/FFD packet, it automatically records the packet type and the frequency at which CV/FFD packets are sent, and starts to detect the connectivity.

  6. Run mpls oam egress enable { all | lsp-name lsp-name | lsr-id ingress-lsr-id tunnel-id tunnel-id }

    OAM is enabled on the egress.
