Configuring IGP GR on the Backbone Network
Configuring IGP GR on the Backbone Network
Context
When configuring GR on the backbone network, configure
the corresponding IGP GR (IS-IS GR or OSPF GR) based on the specific
IGP protocol running on the backbone network.
Procedure
Configure IS-IS GR on the backbone network.
If IS-IS is running on the public network, do as follows
on the related PEs and Ps on the backbone network:
Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
Run isisprocess-id
The IS-IS view is displayed.
Run graceful-restart
The IS-IS GR capability is enabled.
By default, the
IS-IS GR capability is disabled.
(Optional) Run graceful-restart intervalinterval-value
The interval for reestablishing the IS-IS GR session is configured.
The interval for reestablishing the IS-IS GR session is set to
the Hold time in the IS-IS Hello PDU. In this way, the neighbor does
not terminate the peer relationship with the switch when the switch performs the AMB/SMB
switchover.
By default, the interval for reestablishing the
IS-IS GR session is 300 seconds.
(Optional) Run graceful-restart suppress-sa
The GR Restarter is configured to suppress the advertisement
of the peer relationship when it is restarting.
The suppress
advertisement (SA) bit is used in the Hello PDUs by a restarting switch to request its neighbors
to suppress advertising the adjacency to the restarting switch. The SA bit is removed
once its database synchronization is over. Enabling this feature avoids
the black hole effect caused by sending and receiving LSP during the
restart process.
If the administrator does not want the restarting switch to set the SA bit in
its Hello PDUs, the administrator can use the undo graceful-restart
suppress-sa command to disable it.
By default,
the SA bit does not take effect.
Configure OSPF GR on the backbone network.
If OSPF is running on the public network, do as follows on
the related PEs and Ps on the backbone network:
